Olson Electric Development Co., Inc. is a Massachusetts-based corporation providing consulting, development, and contracting services for electric energy projects in the New England area. The firm was originally formed to provide an umbrella corporation to handle the construction and development of various projects owned and operated by Jerome A. Olson. The company has now evolved into a contracting, design, and development entity participating primarily in the electrical upgrade or construction of projects in New England. As such, Olson Electric can offer full turnkey construction of electrical power and automatic control systems for new or existing facilities. Olson Electric or its president have successfully completed projects relative to either the complete development of small projects or the electrical portion of projects as large as 20 megawatts of installed capacity. In addition, the company currently manages and operates four hydro sites in excess of 3.65 megawatts and is developing another site with a 1.3 megawatt capacity. This range of experience provides a hands-on knowledge of the requirements to design, construct, and maintain projects which operate with a minimum of operator presence at the plant. Computer expertise in the development and use of microprocessor applications has greatly enhanced the capabilities and efficiency of the firm. Olson Electric maintains an up-to-date library of available software in systems controls applications, SCADA systems, various MMI applications, AUTOCADD and Visual Cadd applications, the full Rockwell Software line as a VAR vendor and office automation applications.
