Automatic Control Services (ACS) was founded in 1972. Over the years, ACS was the Chicago area service representative for Autocon and then Aquatrol Corporation. In the mid 1990s, ACS became an independent system integrator. In 2002, ACS incorporated and became S.W. Schmitz LLC d/b/a Automatic Control Services. Automatic Control Services is a small company that takes pride in the high quality service that they provide to their customers. ACS provides 24/7 emergency service. Since 1997 ACS has developed and installed twenty SCADA systems for their customers. These systems include PLC-based RTU panels and supervisory computer systems running human-machine interface software. The RTU panels often provide operator interface terminals which provide the operators with a view of the overall system from any remote location and the ability to modify control settings for the RTU. The supervisory stations collect data from the remote locations via telephone line and/or radio communications. The supervisory computers are often programmed to create automated reports for EPA and management purposes. Automatic Control Services provides consultation in the development of SCADA systems. ACS develops, constructs, installs, and commissions the SCADA system and then follows up with quality attentive customer service.
