A.R. Milne Electric Limited was founded in 1965 by its sole employee, Al Milne. Al chose at that time to satisfy a large shortcoming in the electrical industry, namely industrial electric/electronic service as well as control system design and integration. Contract electrical work was also a large part of the business then and remains that way today. The company grew over the next years, and in 1987, the management reins were handed over to John Salmon who subsequently purchased the company in 1997. Since that time, the abilities of the company have been enhanced by the formation of an engineering and design division consisting of full electrical services, including project conception, design-build, implementation, installation, commissioning and service in electrical construction, industrial electronic service, board level repair and electrical design service. Along with that, a division dedicated to the implementation of machine safeguarding has been formed which design, builds and implements mechanical machine guards as well as integrated control entry safety systems. Safety system upgrades have been the company's core business, and A. R. Milne Electric will continue to lead the way in safety innovations. The company is also a CSA-certified control panel manufacturer. A. R. Milne Electric presently provides a variety of services to a diverse client base involved with metal working, construction products, pharmaceutical, food service, industrial manufacturing and construction both locally and internationally.
